RAN Southern Africa RILab <RIC4FIG> Grants Call for Applications closed on 31 January 2015

ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) Southern Africa Resilience Innovation Lab (SARILab) at University of Pretoria is pleased to invite you to apply for its 'Resilience Innovation Challenge 4 Food Security and Improved Income Generation (RIC4FIG)".

RIC4FIG focuses on the sourcing, developing, and scaling of transformative technologies and approaches that will strengthen resilience to food insecurity and limited opportunities for income generation that are associated with climate variability and limited infrastructure exacerbated by a high burden of HIV/AIDS.

Grants ranging between US$15,000 to US$125,000 will be awarded under this call to support the development of innovative approaches and technologies that will strengthen resilience to food insecurity and limited opportunities for income generation within the Southern African Region.

The SA Resilience Innovation Lab, will select and fund projects in 3 priority intervention pathways for resilience building around food insecurity and improved income generation.

  • Intervention Pathway 1: Improve Life and Entrepreneurship skills
  • Intervention Pathway 2: Diversify local economy for resilience
  • Intervention Pathway 3: Transform agricultural practices and markets for resilience
